Old School meets New School!

At the last MOPAR night on the Bryan Square, I was fortunate enough to meet the Esterlines. They were showing their 1972 Dodge Challenger while looking at our 2009 Dodge Challenger. Mike and Karen bought this 1972 Challenger brand new and drove it for 13 years. There are some great pictures of the family in front of it. Sold it and a few years later bought it back. It was in very poor repair and they have spend the last few years getting it back up to show room condition. I couldn't believe they even had the advertisement! On the weekend of July 4th, they drove up to Casebere Motor Sales and took this picture and were kind enough to give us a copy. It's not often you see such documentation associated with a vehicle. And it's nice to see that Dodge kept as true to the old body style as possible. How often do you see 2 such classic vehicles next to eachother. Thank you Mike and Karen!

2010 Dodge Ram HD priced from $28,165 and Power Wagon returns!

by Chris Shunk (RSS feed) on Oct 23rd 2009 at 7:57AM

The 2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty is ready to put some pressure on Ford and Chevrolet with new sheet metal and added capability, as well as lead the way as the first product under the new Ram brand banner. But the Ram team isn't content to compete on product alone, as Chrysler's horned division is also revealing some very competitive pricing today. The Dodge Ram's bread and butter work truck, the 2500 4X2 ST Regular Cab with the eight foot box, starts at $28,165 including $950 destination, which is $1,970 cheaper than the 2009 model. Dodge is also offering a Crew Cab configuration for the first time. Choose the 2500 crew cab SLT 4x4 and you pay $39,430 or $40 less than the 2009 Quad Cab. Jeep Thrills For Italian Figure Skating Queen

By Ed Garstin, Manager Electronic Communications, Chrysler
Italian figure skater Carolina Kostner is training these days in El Segundo, Calif. Kostner was the 2007 & 2008 European Champion, 2008 World silver medallist, bronze medallist at 2005 Worlds and 2003 Junior Worlds, 4-times national champion. She's driving around the Southern California freeways, beaches and boulevards, to and from practice, in a Jeep® Patriot, but took some time out to check out a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited along the SoCal coastline, and talk to us about her training, and, her new ride.
Why are you in Southern California?I moved to California to be able to be trained by Frank Carroll. He is one of the most successful coaches in figure skating history. He was Michelle Kwan's (my childhood idol) formal coach.
Is it all work or do you have time to enjoy some of the nice things that LA has to offer?I don't skate on the weekend so I get to enjoy the city and the beach. Although I won't be partying too much!! :-)
Do you have a favorite place in LA, a favorite restaurant? My favorite restaurant until now is Katana the Japanese grill up on Sunset Blvd..
You have been driving a Jeep Patriot, how do you like it?I am very happy with the Patriot. i counted on having a "not too big" but safe car, and I think the Patriot does a great job.
And what do you like most (e.g., versatility, roominess, comfort after a long day's practice, "do-anything" image, etc.)?I really like the comfort and the power. Driving up to Lake Arrowhead it felt really safe and comfortable. I had nothing to worry about!
Does it fit your training needs as an Olympic Athlete?I think it does a great job!
What about the Jeep Wrangler (the one we took the pictures with), how do you like it?I think the Wrangler is a very fun car, for people who enjoy to do road trips and drive along the Pacific

Dodge Journey nets Top Safety Pick ratings from IIHS

2010 models of the Dodge Journey, Lincoln MKT, and Mazda 3 are the Institute's newest Top Safety Pick award winners. To qualify for Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must earn the highest rating of good in the Institute's front, side, and rear tests and be equipped with electronic stability control. Criteria to win are tough because the award is intended to drive continued safety improvements such as top crash test ratings and the rapid addition of electronic stability control, which is standard on the Dodge Journey and Lincoln MKT, and optional on the Mazda 3.
"Recognizing vehicles at the head of the class for safety helps consumers distinguish the best overall choices without having to sort through multiple test results," says Institute president Adrian Lund. Read more here: http://www.iihs.org/news/default.html

The Kurt Busch Foundation Announces Winner For The Dodge Challenger SRT-8 Charity Car Raffle

Mooresville, North Carolina – September 30, 2009 – This evening The Kurt Busch Foundation announced live on ESPN’s NASCAR Now program that Highlands Ranch, Colorado resident Brian Sauber won the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8.
Sauber saw the vehicle in person while attending the Southern 500 in Darlington, SC. “My brothers and I went to Darlington to celebrate one of my brothers 40th birthday. We did everything - - camped in the infield, watched the races and took in all the sights at the track. That’s where we saw the car displayed at The Kurt Busch Foundation display. I told Kristy at the display I was going to buy a ticket when I got home and I’m glad I followed through! My brothers were ribbing me a bit, but I believe in what Kurt’s doing.” Read more here: http://bit.ly/16xuHr
